Cloud Digit-specific and Bangladesh-specific terms used across the docs.
A¶
AIT — Advance Income Tax. Tax deducted at source by the payer on certain payments (incl. cloud invoices). The customer issues an AIT-deduction-at-source certificate; we honour it on invoicing.
ASG — Auto Scaling Group.
Availability Zone (AZ) — A failure-isolated zone within a region. Each Cloud Digit region has multiple AZs.
B¶
BaaS — Backup-as-a-Service.
BB — Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of Bangladesh. Regulator for all banks, NBFIs, MFS, and PSPs.
BB ICT 4.0 — Bangladesh Bank ICT Security Guideline 4.0. The information-security guideline that all BB-regulated FIs must comply with.
BDIX — Bangladesh Internet Exchange. The country's primary internet-exchange point. Cloud Digit peers directly. See BDIX Peering Direct Connect.
BDT — Bangladeshi Taka. The currency of all Cloud Digit pricing and invoicing.
BEFTN — Bangladesh Electronic Funds Transfer Network. Bank-to-bank transfer rail used for invoiced billing.
BFIU — Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit. AML/CFT regulator.
BIN — Business Identification Number, NBR-issued; used for VAT registration.
BSEC — Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.
BTRC — Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. Cloud Digit operates under a BTRC licence.
BWH / BWD — Business Working Hour / Business Working Day. Asia/Dhaka.
BYOIP — Bring Your Own IP. Customer-owned IPv4/IPv6 ranges announced via Cloud Digit. See Public IPv4 & IPv6.
C¶
CaaS — Containers-as-a-Service. Cloud Digit's term covers Managed Kubernetes and Serverless Containers.
CRR — Cross-Region Replication. Used for Object Storage and snapshots.
CSPM — Cloud Security Posture Management.

DRaaS — Disaster Recovery as a Service.
E¶
e-GP — Electronic Government Procurement, the Bangladesh government procurement portal. Cloud Digit is a registered vendor.
F¶
FI — Financial Institution.
Floating IP — A public IP that can be reassigned between resources. See Floating / Reserved IP.
H¶
HCI — Hyper-Converged Infrastructure. Compute and storage co-located on the same nodes. Used by Block Storage (NVMe HCI).
I¶
IDRA — Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority of Bangladesh.
ISO 27001 — International information-security management standard. Cloud Digit is certified.
K¶
KMS — Key Management Service. Cloud Digit provides KMS via OpenBao Transit engine.
L¶
LB — Load Balancer.
M¶
MFS — Mobile Financial Services (bKash, Nagad, Rocket, etc.). Regulated by BB.
MMR — Meet-Me Room. The shared facility room in a DC where carriers, exchanges, and customers cross-connect.
Mushak — VAT-related forms and records under NBR.
N¶
NBR — National Board of Revenue. Bangladesh tax authority.
NID — National Identity Card / number. Required for KYC.
O¶
Object Lock — S3 WORM (Write Once, Read Many). See Object Lock.
OpenBao — The open-source HashiCorp Vault fork. Cloud Digit's Secrets Management is built on OpenBao.
P¶
PCI DSS — Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Cloud Digit supports PCI scope on dedicated infrastructure.
PIOPS — Provisioned IOPS. See Block Storage (Provisioned IOPS).
Project — The unit of resource grouping inside a Cloud Digit account. Roughly equivalent to an "AWS account" or a "GCP project."

Region — A Bangladeshi data-centre footprint. bd-dha-1, bd-ctg-1, bd-syl-1. See Regions.
RJSC — Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms. Bangladesh entity registrar.
RTO / RPO — Recovery Time Objective / Recovery Point Objective. See DR Planning.
S¶
SOC 2 — Service Organization Control 2. Annual attestation; Cloud Digit holds a Type II.
SNI — Server Name Indication. TLS extension that signals which hostname a client is connecting to.
T¶
TAM — Technical Account Manager. Named contact for Enterprise tier; see Support.
TIN — Tax Identification Number. NBR-issued.
Tier-III — Uptime Institute classification for data-centre availability (concurrently maintainable; 99.982% facility-level target).
V¶
VDC — Virtual Data Centre / Dedicated Tenant Pool.
VPC — Virtual Private Cloud.
W¶
WAF — Web Application Firewall.
WORM — Write Once, Read Many. The retention guarantee provided by Object Lock.
